Real Wedding Review 💍 Kendra + Granton

JUNE 2024

We had dreamed about our wedding day from the very beginning of our relationship, and it truly could not have been more perfect. After getting ready, we had our first look at a bridge tucked away in the bluffs at Saint Mary's University where we'd had many dates throughout our relationship, and upon seeing each other we were both overcome with tears of joy. We then said our "I do's" at River Bluff Church and followed the ceremony by greeting every single guest in a receiving line outside before continuing our night. We had such an incredible time with moving speeches, mouthwatering food, tons of cake (but still not enough!), the infamous shoe game which brought much laughter from our guests, and a dance. We had the most spectacular day ever, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped to bring our dreams to life.

  • Hy-Vee Cakes · We were looking for an affordable but still sophisticated cake vendor, and when we met Renee from Hy-Vee Cakes, we were immediately impressed. She was so accommodating throughout the entire process, letting us try as many sample flavors as we wanted (which were all AMAZING) and layered and decorated the cake to our wishes. When we showed up on the wedding day and saw the cake it was everything we had hoped for and more. It was gorgeous! She had catered it in and everything without a hitch. We were so happy to be able to have worked with Renee and Hy-Vee, and we could not recommend them enough.

  • Backwater BBQ · One of our first dates was at Backwater BBQ in Winona, and we were immediately in love with their mouthwatering barbeque. When we heard that they catered, we knew that we wanted them to cater our wedding. Lance was so easy to work with, and gave us a very affordable quote to provide for us and the 100 or so guests we had attending. While barbeque isn't the most traditional wedding food, all of our guests (and us, too!) just loved it. We all ate till we were full, and had tons of energy to get through the rest of the evening. Backwater was incredible to work with, and we still continue to go back there for dates and great food even now after our wedding.

  • Ameia Roemer Photography · When we saw Amelia's work in photography, we knew that she would be absolutely perfect for our wedding day. She has a light, airy, and gorgeous style to her photos that make them look like they came straight from a fairy tale. She was a joy to work with and helped us to feel comfortable in our engagement photo session and throughout the entire wedding day. She was efficient yet flexible, and was willing to do absolutely anything we desired. We even had to trudge through some muddy trails to get to a destination spot, and she didn't let that stop her. Photographers are so important on a wedding day, and she was just perfect. And the photos were literally from a dream. After looking through them all, we were so overwhelmed with joy and love. She captured the beauty of every single moment, and we will cherish all the photos for the rest of our lives.

  • AliLou Events · We were recommended to AliLou Event Services out of Galesville, WI by a friend, and even when we discovered Louise was booked for our wedding, she was still extremely flexible and was totally willing to squeeze us in. She walked us through her warehouse, which housed as many decorations as you could dream of. She let us pick out any decoration we wanted for the wedding day, and when we came to pick them up a few days prior to our wedding she had everything ready to go for us. They all looked so beautiful when put together, and we were extremely impressed with the ease of working with her and the beauty of her decorations. She even had plates and utensils for us to use! If anyone is looking to save money and rent decor rather than spend a bucket load to buy it all, AliLou Event Services is the perfect place to go.

  • Windsor Palace · Christine Windsor from Windsor Palace has been my hairdresser for as long as I have been in Winona, and I just love her. I knew as soon as I got engaged that I wanted her to do my hair for our wedding. She was so excited to work with me! She was open to any styles I wanted, and she could do absolutely anything. She even scheduled a free consultation for me so that I could try out any styles I was interested in. On the wedding day she was ready bright and early in the morning to not only help me, but also do the hair for my mom and mother-in-law. Working with Christine was the perfect way to start my wedding day, and I was so excited with how my hair turned out. And even with all the hustle and bustle of the day, not even one pin fell out. I was so impressed and would recommend her to absolutely anyone.

  • The Wedding Tree · I bought my dress from The Wedding Tree in La Crosse, WI. When I arrived, I was immediately attended to by an extremely kind and bubbly employee who listened to my wish list and was able to locate a large selection of dresses that matched my criteria. Although all of the dresses were so beautiful they seemed to be a dream, as I slipped on the last dress of the selection, my eyes immediately watered and I knew that was the one. It fit like a glove and didn't need a single alteration! All the staff was just so excited for me, and they were even able to safely store my dress and have it ironed and ready to go when I picked it up the day before my wedding. I was welcomed and cared for by everyone there, and I was so grateful for the experience to work with them. If anyone is looking for a beautiful dress that checks every box, The Wedding Tree is the place to go!
